I don't write many reviews...

... But I watch a lot of movies! And I liked this one a lot. I found it to be brief and effective contrary to too short. And the humor was ironic and surprisingly detailed. Have you considered making a series? Because that'd be sick.

It is good...

I think people are reading too much into the "story" of this series... the point is, there is supposed to be a lack of reason, hence madness. Love the new Hank but I gotta admit I wanna see him back to normal. I also wanna see him totally obliterate all the other characters once and for all so that it can get back to it's simple point: senseless violence.

He's basically a maniac

Craziness is difficult to represent in art because at it's heart it is unpredictable. This is imaginative enough such that there is never a dull moment. It was worthwhile and entertaining and I will watch it many times again, thank you!

Hey, this is excellent. The learning curve is a bit steep but I suggest to anyone reading this that they should stick with it. Whereas most "art" flashes turn out to be cheap kitschy imitations of drama and always go for the easy plot device, this stuff actually has some depth to it. Well done!

Now to the logistics of the flash, I'm giving you a 5 despite the fact that it was so difficult. This is because I appreciated the story telling and thematic elements (creepy border shrinking) so much. The greatest hurdle to mastering the gameplay was that it wasn't readily apparent, at least not to me, that altering a panel will sometimes changes subsequent panels and not the preceding ones. I did play the Narcissist and the Egocentric, but I still had to resort to the walkthrough. Nevertheless the payoff is really rewarding, interesting, and bit touching what with the picture at the end, I just fear that most people (namely, the pre teens on this site) will give up rather than finish the game.

AthleticDesign responds:

Thank you! I appreciate your appraisal as it is exactly the kind of reaction we have been working for.

While The Narcissist and The Egocentric somewhat prepare for The Self-Destructive, it is still quite a leap. The next chapter in this game will probably be placed between the Egocentric and The Self Destructive to make the build up smoother.

A friend of us who has been play testing the game a lot, found all the previous chapters straightforward and he did admirably on The Self Destructive but still needed some help from us to complete it.

Just thought I'd mention...

that I really enjoyed this game. I thought the music was pretty cool and was impressed at how all of the movements synced up with the rhythm.

Things are getting convoluted

This game introduces new species, characters, and even MORE fantastic (I mean that as in fantastical, like in a dream) dramatic backdrops. It's almost getting a little too colorful for me. The plot seems to suffer because there are so many speedbumps (the Kidnapping by the Gygax, the quest to get the special Honey, the All-Knowing Parasite) that just make me forget the original purpose, which is killing the death slugs. Oh well, I still really enjoyed it and the music as usual (Thanks Mitch!) is great.

Thanks! Waiting for the rest

Like you said, much better as an intro. Only did 9 to tempt you to make more. Nice use of the chromatic scale, sweet.

The large print giveth... The small print taketh away...
